Ok first, don't link to my twitter profile... Second... I love wordpress always. I like that they made the UI not suck. As far as organization and stuff goes I love it. There are a few little things that bug me but I am getting used to as time goes on. I love the write page, it feels really nice. Overall it's not THAT different. Just sexy. I don't like how they handled the secondary nav and whoever designed it pretty much has opposite views on vertical alignment than I do. What more do you want from me?

Wp 2.5 is a groundbreaking release for quite a few good reasons (builtin image galleries, easy to embed video media tools, gorgoeus new dashboard) and a few bad reasons (widgets no longer drag and drop, the admin backend has been made more complicated, 3 clicks to do what one used to). Overall it's a win but is still lacking the simplicity of earlier incarnations.
As to the beerandblog event, Aaron did a fantastic job explaining the perils and pitfalls of an unreleased version while encouraging excitement about the best blogging platform bar none.
